In this episode of Post Human Law, we are joined by The Honorable James Allsop, Daisy Peterson, and Natasha Blycha in a discussion about how artificial intelligence will impact the justice systems.
The Hon James Allsop AC is an internationally recognised jurist and arbitrator, with extensive experience across commercial law and dispute resolution. He served as Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia from 2013 to 2023, and as President of the New South Wales Court of Appeal from 2008 to 2013.
Across his career at the Bar and on the bench, his work has spanned a broad range of complex commercial matters, including corporate and insolvency disputes, banking and finance, intellectual property, taxation, construction, insurance, maritime law, and international arbitration. He now provides arbitration, mediation and expert determination services in Australia and internationally, and has chambers in Sydney and London.
Daisy is a Research Associate in International Law at the Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice, conducting research across all three Pillars of the Institute’s work. The Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice — a partnership between the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government and the Clooney Foundation for Justice — aims to harness technology, including AI, to advance access to justice, strengthen accountability, and promote the development of international law. Daisy is also a DPhil Candidate in Law at Magdalen College, University of Oxford, where her expertise spans general international law, State responsibility, and human rights. She holds a Law LLB from King’s College London (First Class Honours), and Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford (Distinction).
Natasha Blycha is one of the world’s pre-eminent Smart Legal Contract experts. She is recognised in Chambers as a global fintech expert with technical product design experience and deep legal understanding as a co-author of the Oxford text on Smart Legal Contracts and Springer Digital Asset text. Shis is the founder of Chambers ranked national tech law firm Stirling & Rose and previously former Global Head of Digital Law at a major international law firm, Natasha advises on Smart Legal Contracts, Autonomous Organisations, and digital assets and has been awarded the Financial Times Most Innovative Lawyer and Thought Leader of the Year. Natasha founded and is the CEO of Nooriam.
